The internet as the mainstream of media plays a vital role in transferring information. Some people assert that internet would take the place of books in the near future. However, I believe each medium has its own advantages and disadvantages. Books will always hold a position in our lives.
Admittedly, Internet has made our lives hassle free. Firstly, it can convey information instantly. it can tell what happened in the world right away in depict. Secondly, it plays an important role in education sector. People can study History, Culture, Language, enhance cooking skills and many more from the internet. Even the books are now available in the electronic format (E-Books) and that is the reason some people find it a threat to the traditional physical books,
Nevertheless, we could not neglect the importance of books which are very convenient to carry and easy to get. Books are available everywhere in the every nook and corner of the world. After a day work we can easily unwind in our bed or sofa by reading book or magazine. Books are also very good travel companion.
Moreover, it is also very difficult to sit for a long hours glued to the monitor screen. Eye strain and back pain are also some disadvantages of internet. As so many power cuts and fluctuation in internet we cannot rely on it.
To conclude, despite the threat of internet, the books has sustained its place in our lives and so I feel that we'll never go without books because they have served us so well for so long.
